Covid-19 Policy

Guests’ health and wellbeing are our main priority.

Guest Health & Wellbeing

Safety first, always

TCOB and Moonlit Movies take guests’ health very seriously, and we adhere to the Government’s policies on helping to stop the spread by following the latest guidelines.

These measures were put in place for the 2022 season, when screenings ran monthly from October through January at Tai Pak Beach in Discovery Bay.

The Measures

What we did on site

  • Pre-Registration & LeaveHomeSafe App Guests were required to scan the LeaveHomeSafe QR Code and present their Vaccine Pass when entering.
  • Temperature Check & Face Masks Temperature checks were carried out at the entrance, and masks had to be worn when not seated.
  • Hand Sanitiser Stations Hand sanitiser stations were placed at entry and exit points.
  • Extensive Cleaning Private pods were cleaned thoroughly throughout the season.
  • Socially Distanced Plots Plots were spaced 1.5 metres apart, arranged for groups of up to 4 people.

At Moonlit Movies, guest health and wellbeing sit at the heart of how we host an evening under the stars. Every outdoor screening is planned around a safe, relaxed atmosphere, so guests can settle in with friends or family, share a sundowner, and watch a favourite film without feeling rushed or crowded. We follow the guidance issued by the Government and keep our on-site measures aligned with the latest requirements, reviewing them ahead of each season of events.

These measures were shaped during the 2022 season, when our screenings ran monthly from October through January at Tai Pak Beach in Discovery Bay. That stretch of shoreline became the setting for long summer nights of drinks at sunset, dinner under the lights, and award-winning films, classics and golden oldies shown beneath open sky. The experience of a complete night out — food, sounds, and a great movie — was designed to feel effortless, and the same care carries into how we welcome guests today.

Our approach begins before anyone arrives. Pre-registration and the use of the LeaveHomeSafe app helped us keep track of attendance and reduce unnecessary contact points on site. From there, the rest of the evening follows a simple rhythm: arrive early, find a spot on the sand or the terrace, order something chilled from the bar, and let the light fade. It is an unhurried, atmospheric way to watch a film, with space to wander, to talk between features, and to enjoy the evening with the people you came with.

Many of our screenings are themed, specially selected to match the mood of the location and the season. Families with kids, couples, groups of friends, and seasoned film goers all find something that appeals, whether that is an action adventure, a romance, a comedy, or a beloved classic. Additional activities and chilled refreshments are laid out around the programme, so no one has to choose between entertainment and atmosphere. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket, settle in, and stay for the full experience.

Ticket inclusions and the finer details of our measures are covered in our FAQs, and our team is happy to answer any questions guests may have before booking. We know that trust is earned through transparency, and that a great night out depends on feeling looked after from the moment you arrive to the moment the credits roll. If you are wondering how we handle safety, access, or what to expect at an event, please read through the FAQs or get in touch, and we will make sure everything is clear before the lights go down.
